Edgartown Commons is in the heart of historic downtown Edgartown, and features a unique array of 29 vacation apartments on our charming campus of 6 historic buildings. Each rental unit features a fully equipped kitchen, with on-site laundry and free parking. We also have an in-ground swimming pool, playground, picnic benches, bike racks, fire pits, and grills. Many of our guests are multigenerational families that return year after year, and have done since 1977.
Edgartown Commons was founded in 1977. Previously, our properties were known as the Carol Apartments, and fondly remembered by previous generations of Island visitors. Our central Schoolhouse building dates back to the early 1840s, and served as one of Edgartown’s main schools until the 1920s. Our two cottages have a tale of their own: built in the 19th century as fishing cottages on Nantucket, they were later hauled across the ocean to where they stand today.
